Travel to the west coast, unspoilt, sometimes rugged but always picturesque.
Drive inland to the Monchique Mountains, [these are visible from the terrace]
sample some gorgeous food in one of the roadside restaurants.
Visit Caldas de Monchique a pretty town famous for its springs,
take along an empty water bottle and fill up.
Why not stop and buy a souvenir along the way?
At the top of the mountains enjoy the magnificent 360 degree views
down to the coast and Portimao. Continue your drive back down the mountains towards the west to explore a completely different Portugal.
